Pauline Ann Fernandes

Pauline Ann Fernandes, 83, of New Bedford, passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at Sacred Heart Nursing Home. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of over 50 years, Roger. Born in New Bedford to the late Arthur Villeneuve and Delma (Martin) Villeneuve, she lived most of her life in New Bedford. She was a dedicated employee for a variety of businesses in the area until she retired to spend time with Roger.

Pauline leaves behind her daughter Nicole, husband Sean and her beloved grandson Roger, who were the joy of her life. She also held a special place in her heart for a cute pup named Dixie. She is survived by many loving nieces, nephews and a wonderful collection of friends and neighbors. She is predeceased by a brother, Arthur Villeneuve, and a sister, Patricia Forest.

Pauline loved shopping and dining local and remained involved with her St. Anthony classmates and was proud of her French Canadian heritage. She was especially thankful for nights out with the friends, singing along to Rod Stewart or Irish ditties. She will certainly miss NYC, Disney, Ray's Pizza, a crisp Absolut and soda, hanging by the pool and a Friday tending to her hair and nails. In her later years, she enjoyed spending time with her grandson learning to appreciate baseball, Ducks football and most recently Drake Maye. Her family are already missing her daily phone calls.

The family would like to extend its gratitude for the care she received at Sacred Heart Nursing Home and from Beacon Hospice Care.

There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, February 14, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Gabriel the Archangel Church, 343 Tarkiln Hill Road, New Bedford. Burial is private. Memorial donations may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
